The Little Village
Environmental Justice Organization (LVEJO) is hiring a grants &
fundraising consultant to begin immediately.
Summary: This
position is primarily responsible for working to raise funds for
LVEJO projects through local fundraising, government, foundation and
corporate grant writing; researching potential grant opportunities;
and administration of communications with LVEJO’s government,
foundation, and corporate funders.
Administer Local Fundraising Initiative with LVEJO:
-
Assist
with development of Annual LVEJO event and scheduled local
fundraisers
-
Establishing a variety of mechanisms to maintain contact with
existing and potential donors
- Consistently
working with Board and Staff to increase the number of donors and
amount of donations
Raise Funds from Government, Corporate & Foundation Funders through
Grant Writing, Research, and Coordination of Stakeholders:

Researches grant opportunities and develop communication with all
existing and potential funders
·
Drafts
and assembles grant proposals.
·
Coordinate and liaise with funders around the preparation,
submission, and awarding of grants.
·
Coordinate and liaise with LVEJO program staff to collect and
summarize information relevant to grants.
Administer Communications with Government, Corporate & Foundation
Funders:
·
Maintains calendar of grant proposal due dates, as well as grant
progress and final report due dates.
·
Drafts
grant progress and finalize reports.
·
Maintains database of all LVEJO grants and funders (current,
pending, active, inactive), and their corresponding pertinent
information.
Provide General Development Department Organization and Support:
·
Writes
and disseminates Constant Contact emails.
·
Assists in the writing and designing of brochures, flyers and
pamphlets for the organization.
·
Assists in the organizing, planning and implementation of LVEJO
fundraising and community events.
·
Assists in the implementation of activities related to LVEJO
Membership Campaign.
·
Performs other duties as assigned that fulfill the General Purpose
of the position.
Skills:
-
A
minimum of 2 years experience of demonstrated successful fundraising
and grant writing with a non-profit organization is required

Experience with Constant Contact or other e-newsletter and
traditional newsletters
-
Creation and management of electronic database
-
Exceptional organizational and time management skills
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-
Excellent attention to detail
-
The
use of good judgment and good interpersonal communication skills
-
Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
-
PC
experience required: MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
-

Ability and willingness to work flexibly in a changing non-profit
environment

Time Frame:
Part-Time: 8-10 hours per week
