The Little Village Environmental Justice Organization is proud to announce they have been chosen for the BP/CPS Service Learning Adopt-An-Eco-System Project with Benito Juarez High School for the 2003 - 2004 school year.

Kim Wasserman, LVEJO staff will be working with Ms. Martha Pedroza's Environmental Science & Biology Classrooms on community & classroom projects as well as several field trips.

During the Fall & Winter of 2003 the students were paired into groups of 4 and took pictures of the environment in there community and to & from school. The environment impacts being both good and bad. Below are the collages that were created with those pictures as well as other art resources.

During the Winter 2003 & Spring 2004 the students started working on ideas and designs for a garden either in the community or on the school grounds. They started prepping there compost bins, researching native plants of Illinois and referring to landscaping books for ideas on spaces. Below are some of the designs that were created for a school garden.
