This event was able to bring create intergenerational, multi racial dialogues both along campaign issues but as well community issues. LVEJO is honored to work with such amazing members and volunteers. We graciously would like to thank the following individuals for volunteering there time:

During the Open House LVEJO was proud to have hosted the Chicago Community Bike Project. CCBP hosted a free bike clinic for local residents who wanted to learn how to fix a bike or needed to have repairs done. We invite you to visit http://www.chibikeproject.org/  to learn more about this wonderful organization.

LVEJO is also proud to have hosted the DePaul environmental student group Environmental Concerns Organization (ECO). These amazing students came out in the rain and cold and helped Eduardo Anaya, Urban Agriculture Organizer and Sr. Barega. volunteer turn the dirt and prep 6 gardens in and around LVEJO. We greatly appreciate there time, dedication and willingness to work in bad weather to help make our gardens beautiful for 2008.

After the Open House, LVEJO hosted it’s first Annual Spring Membership Meeting. Members were updated on current campaigns and organizational structure followed by membership presentations for voting and fundraising. We are honored to be able to host this first membership meeting and give LVEJO members the opportunity to have more stake both in the organization as well as in the campaigns and community. The next membership meeting will be in Fall of 2008, please visit  http://www.lvejo.org/membership.htm for more information as the date approaches.
